B is for Benendict!

Ben has found his consonants. Or he's found his D and maybe his M. Either way we get to listen to the occasional "Ahh-da-da-ya-aaaaah-da-da." But he's still mostly into squeals rather than actual babbling. Now that he's six months old, it's time to introduce Ben to the world of "solid" foods. So far the delicious, nutritious rice cereal has not been a hit.

He has also cut his first tooth, with only a moderate amount of drama. And he is getting very good at sitting up. Lately he has been getting up on hands and knees and rocking in place when he's protesting being put in his crib, but he hasn't figured out he can do it at other times yet. He may not be crawling, but he is incredibly mobile and able to get his little grabby hands on pretty much anything that catches his eye.

Little Swinger

This has been a busy week for Ben. He went on the swings for the first time. They were a hit. He also has gotten so heavy that he was moved out of the infant care seat and into the convertible car seat. It also seemed to be a hit. He's posed for pictures, practiced sitting up, and had his first picnic. Sadly, he's also discovered grass and thinks it's a fabulous thing to pull at with his little hands. I hate grass. Grass is natural and therefore dirty and full of unknown wild life. I do not want to meet this wild life. But no, my son thinks grass is grand....

Ben's First Fourth

For the fourth of July, we took Ben down to hang with his Gran and Da. He practiced his best cute looks on them and is working on his evil plan to wrap then around his little bear paws. In addition to getting cuter by the day, he is also getting better at stuff like rolling, sitting, and grabbing things to shove in his mouth :)
